A Bit of Magic

Black & White Striped Peplum

You know how they say magic happens only outside of your comfort zone? Well, I'm here to tell you it can happen inside of your comfort zone, too. Forget what "they" said.

"I felt ashamed of my repetitive style choices, until I accepted that stripes are just my thing. They are my magic."

I have gone on about how I should probably wear something other than stripes, yet, here I am again. I've felt ashamed of my repetitive style choices, until I accepted that stripes are just my thing. They are my magic. And who am I to turn away magic in any way or shape it enters the world?

black, white & leopard

Black & White Outfit

It's fair to say that I'm not the coolest girl on the block. I have a lot of  bright colors, flirty cuts, and glittered anything in my closet. Black, white and badass has never been my M.O.

I admire many of the chic, minimal bloggers for their effortless style (franceta johnson, the mich mix, harper & harley), but I've always felt incomplete without color or an accessory overload.

Now that I'm more comfortable with my style and experimenting, I'm ready to give it a go. But I don't think I can give up over accessorizing. I'm keeping my layered bracelets, bold lipstick and even a leopard print or two.

life savers

80a

Last week was my first week back in classes after Spring Break and I was already over it the minute my alarm rang on Monday morning. The only things that kept me present that day were a chai latte before class and the attitude boost I got from wearing a punchy pair of kicks. This might come off as a little bit dramatic, but hear me out, okay? These shoes saved my life.

I bought them at H&M on my lunch break during a painfully long shift at work and before I left the store they were on my feet. I could not have been more grateful for the instantaneous relief. I didn't expect to wear them beyond that day, let alone to be wearing them purposefully with one of my favorite dresses.

I've worn this dress so many times, in so many ways, all last winter. It's absolutely perfect. It's easily layerable, it stretches in the right places and has pockets. Hello, it's the best. I was starting to think it was all worn out. But, for a second time, these sneakers came through like a champ and gave my dress a new breath of life.

the quick & dirty

I'm gonna cut straight to the chase here: I'm Audrey. And, I'm also Lulu Linden. And no, I don't have multiple personality disorder (not clinically). And yes, I have definitely had a blog before. But, I got bored with it. Well, mostly with the idea of being a "style blogger." Don't misquote me here, though. I love style -- LOVE IT. But as a growing human being, I learned that on any given day I could be interested in a number of things. Not just what shoes matches what purse, ya' know?

And that realization is what birthed this new blog.

Best believe there will be shoes and purses, but there will also be musings on juice cleanses, long-winded rants, new books, failed DIY's and general glimpses into what life's like for a girl trying to become a Beyonce in world full of Miley Cyruses. (No shade, no tea, she's making money).

So there! That's the quick and dirty of it. The nitty-gritty. The official intro to what I'll be blabbing about on your social medias from here on out. Be prepared (sing that in the voice of Scar from the Lion King)!
