Skincare with Enza Essentials

Enza Essentials Review

Let's talk skin, shall we?

I've never thought to invest in a full on skin care regimen because throughout my should-be acne-ridden years, my skin played fairly nice. Just the regular stress induced, hormone induced or I-haven't-cleaned-my-make-up-brushes-in-months induced breakouts.

Because of this luck, I'd kept with the same simple process (read, lazy) I've had since I was 16 -- a drugstore face wash followed be coconut oil to moisturize. Though coconut oil works wonders, it would've never taken the place of tailored skin care products, or so I've learned.

Enza Essentials sent me a Day & Night regimen after I a answered these questions about my skin. When I opened the box, my first thought was "this is a hell of a lot of steps."

Now, onto my faves

I've been using Enza for over a month now, and I know for sure I love the way it makes my skin feel. Once I got used to the process, it felt less like a chore and more like a much needed dose of self care.

The face wash and toner are great staples, but the Facial Polish and Glow Creme that are a part of my night process are a-freaking-mazing. The polish felt like it was gently buffing away the grossness of the day and the creme just felt like silk kissing my skin, seriously.

In their Day set, I used SPF for the first time ever outside of vacation, and after seeing this video on how sun can effect skin, I'm glad it was included. It's so easy to forget that your skin is what protects you from the harsh, mean world, so it never hurts to be extra nice to it.

The final word

One thing I would've liked to test was their Spot Extractor, because I still had my regular isolated breakouts. Overall, I felt like I was treating myself to spa quality skin care every time I washed my face, and, I mean, who doesn't like a good spa day?

Spring pout: Coral Lippies

I'm doing some spring refreshing of my makeup bag, but there's one spring beauty staple that I think is timeless: a good coral lipstick.
It's such a happy color that even with the lingering snowy days, it feels like the sun is shining and flowers are blooming.
For a punchy, almost-orange coral, I use Milani's Sweet Nectar. When I want a softer more girly option, I use M.A.C.'s Vegas Volt. If you're afraid of full on coral, try one with more pink than orange, like Maybelline's Shocking Coral.

everyday glitter eyes

Everyday Glitter Eyeshadow
You remember how I said there would still be some sparkle in my world even though the holidays were over? Well, this is what I meant!
There are no rules that confine glitter to Christmas or NYE. There are also no rules that say that that glitter can't be on your face. Here is a small, sneaky way of making glitter a part of your daily routine.
Glitter Eyeshadow Steps
Neutral Eyeshadow Base
(above) Before the glitter, apply eyeshadow as you would normally. Lighter shade in the center, darker contour in the outer "V" corner.
(below) Once you have your subtle base, it's time to amp it up by using a similar shade of glitter eyeliner over the lighter area. Apply mascara and you're set to sparkle.

summertime bright: coral lips

coral lipstick

I have way more lipstick than should be allowed -- from retro reds to pastel pinks -- I have it all and I love them all. This summer I've been giving this look some extra love, though: a punchy coral lip with a simple face. It's fun, young and worth giving a try if you're bored with your blah lipglosses. Here's a step-by-step to how I get the party started with this bright lippie.

Here's what you need:
Concealer & Brush for outlining your lips
Neutral Eyeshadow & Primer for a solid wash of brightening color; I mixed Foxy & Booty Call from the Naked 2 palette
Coral Blush similar in shade to your lipstick, not an exact match
Mascara or Falsies you want your eyes defined without harsh eyeliner
Coral Lipstick mine is Sephora's Neon Rouge Samba
Bright Earrings just for fun, to play up the color of the lipstick

1. Start with a prepped face -- foundation, concealer, filled-in brows -- the whole bit.
m.a.c. concealer
2. Carefully line the outside of your lips with concealer and blend. It stops feathering & defines your lips.

3. Sweep eyeshadow a shade lighter than skin tone along your lids & thinly line them. Pile on the mascara for full definition.

4. Sweep a coral blush along your cheeks to give them a flush so the lipstick won't overpower your face.

5. Fill in your lips with the lipstick. Use a brush for more definition.
