Boom Boom Bright

A lime green, palm-printed, wide-legged jumpsuit -- if you would've described that to me 3 years ago, I probably would've said, "that's bit much, don't you think?" So, I definitely never imagined I'd wait in a line at 7 a.m. to buy one, but I did.

There's no doubt it's bright, but a comfy chambray and neutral tote tone it down just enough for it to be worn casually. Or at least my somewhat over-the-top version of casual.

"WHAT'S THE POINT OF WEARING BRIGHT, PUNCHY PATTERNS IF YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP IT SIMPLE?"

I'm not saying I won't go all Palm Beach glam sometime later this summer, because I mean, it is Lilly Pulitzer. What's the point of wearing bright, punchy patterns if you're going to keep it simple? More colors I say, more!

I'm so ready for this weekend. Well, to be more accurate, I'm so ready for Sunday because, if you live under a rock and haven't heard already, it's the day that Lilly Pulitzer for Target launches.

I've shared my Lilly moments before, so you probably already know that I'm a sucker for the bright, happy patterns. I'll be at Target bright and early ready to grab my faves (below). There's no shame in my game!

I would be more embarrassed by my giddiness, but with everything I want under $40 and a complete array of sizes and options, I gotta say, this a collection worth being unabashedly giddy for.

Scrolling through the 'Gram last night, some major news was brought to my attention -- Lilly Pulitzer for Target is coming this April. That's Lilly, y'all!

I'll be honest with you, 4 years ago that wouldn't have meant a thing, but since I've lived in the south and worked at a southern belle's dream boutique for the past 4 years, I've grown to love the bright, fun patterns that are Lilly Pulitzer.

I'm excited to see what Target will be offering. It looks like an all encompassing line, from home goods to summer loungewear. I'm down for any brand that celebrates living life like everyday is a party.

Let me apologize for the crazy headache you're most likely getting from this bright a** pink romper. It might be a lot to process for Monday, but for the past weekend it was perfect.

My summer internship is over and I fully enjoyed my weekend without the looming  9-5 over my head. It's back to the regular for me -- student + retail combo when school starts later this month. 

I'm going to make the most of the what's left of summer between now and then, and yes, it will include more obnoxiously bright colors. Adjust your screens accordingly. 

Fun note: the pattern of this Lilly Pulitzer clutch is "Lulu" and has flamingoes on it, but most importantly was just as bright as the romper so obviously, I had to pair them up. I mean, if you're gonna go bright, why not go all the way.

I've never needed a good reason to wear bright colors. But if I did need a reason, what would be a better one than summer? And summer by the pool at that? 

These palazzo pants by Lilly Pulitzer are punchy and and demand attention. You'd probably be able to see me coming from a mile away, and you know what, I'm okay with that. 

If there's only one thing you take from these Lilly pants, let it be this: don't be afraid of color. Or pattern. Play with them both and have a ball while you do. After all, life's a party. Why not dress like it?
