Doughnut Break

Gwynnie Bee Gray Dress & Moto Jacket

Combing through racks and racks of clothes can really tire a girl out, or so I learned this past week. I stopped by the Gwynnie Bee office while I was in New York and got the chance to go through their "forest" of new fall arrivals.

"The fit was so comfortable and it ruched in all the right places – I could've had all the doughnuts and still been good to go."

It was like spending a morning in Cher Horowitz's closet, going through it all. After all that hard work, me and the Gwynnie Bee girls, Kelly and Sarah, needed a coffee break. Well, more of a doughnut break, actually.

I'll be sharing more from my day at Gywnnie Bee, but this dress was my absolute favorite. Funny thing is, seeing it on the hanger, I thought it wouldn't fit me well. Cut to me never wanting to take it off. The fit was so comfortable and it ruched in all the right places – I could've had all the doughnuts and still been good to go.

Brunette To Blonde

I'm never afraid to try anything once, and that includes trying out different hairstyles. What I am afraid of though, is doing irreparable damage to my hair.

If there's one thing I know, it's that going from brunette to blonde will always be bad news for your hair's health. So, instead of risking it, I got a wig. This one was under $20, making it an affordable way fulfill my blonde ambition.

There are some tricks to making a wig look as natural as possible, so I made a quick video for you gals looking to get into the wig game. It took me a few tries before I figured out exactly how I liked mine to look, but now, I am a full convert.

Going, Going

Buffalo Plaid & Stripe Pattern Mixing

Let me preface this post with a warning: you may become very sick of how often you are going to hear me talk about New York. It's going to happen a lot. My life is currently revolving around my move back, and I couldn't be happier.

There are moments when I feel like I might get knocked over, but who has time for that? I've got to get packing for my trip to New York.

I also couldn't be busier. There are moments when I feel like I might get knocked over, but who has time for that? I've got to get packing for my trip to New York.  A trip that's happening this week – in two days, to be exact.

If it sounds like I'm complaining, I swear I'm not (no time for that, either). More than anything, I'm just really freakin' excited to start prepping my move back. And if I have to go non-stop for a few months to prepare for it, I think I can manage.

The Bucket Bag

Next to diamonds, I'd argue that a good purse is a girl's best friend. What else holds our entire lives, our on-the-go-life savers, and even some of our deepest, darkest secrets, like a trusty handbag?

And I'm the kind of girl who throws every and then some into her bag, just in case.

Right now, as I'm sure you can tell from some of my recent posts, my Old Navy bucket bag, is in heavy rotation. Yes, yes, it's a trendy, but that's not my favorite thing about it. For being such a compact size, it just holds so much.

And I'm the kind of girl who throws everything and then some -  books, papers, notepads, lip balm, a makeup pouch, wallet, change purse, pencil pouch, snack bar, lotion, hand sanitizer, a bottle of water - into her bag, just in case.
